Default Pope Francis: Another Man of the Year Award!

    Congratulations, Pope Frank!

WASHINGTON (AP/WJLA) - Pope Francis is having a pretty good year for himself. He succeeded Pope Benedict XIV at the Vatican, he's already been named Time's Person of the Year and he spent Tuesday celebrating his 77th birthday.

Now, in what could be a shift between the gay community and the Catholic faith, one of the nation's most prominent gay and lesbian publications is honoring him as well.

The Advocate, America's oldest gay rights magazine, is following Time's suit, naming him their person of the year as well. It's a move that's being praised by the gay Catholic organization Dignity USA. Their decision comes a year after offering his views on homosexuality, saying that if someone is gay and seek's the Lord's good will, he has no place to judge them.

"We're just so thrilled he's listening to us," Daniel Barutta from Dignity USA said. "He's really making an effort to listen to people on the margins." The Advocate article says Pope Francis offers LGBT Catholics who remain in the church more reason to hope that change is coming.

But Msgr. John Enzler, a priest of 40 years, says The Advocate's honor may not sit well with all Catholics.
    lol...ya think?

This is amazing for a POPE. The world is making so much progress lately sometimes I wake up and wonder if I got transported to 2040.

I already hear lots of criticism by Catholics directed at the Pope's new stance on gays. If a homosexual is leading a homosexual lifestyle? How can he not be judged? Doesn't mean we don't treat them like human beings but they are clearly not practicing Christians.

The push to accept homosexuals has already reached the Vatican.....It's bad enough that they are already employing high positions of power world wide. I was talking to a Filipina woman and I noticed the HUGE amount of gays and lesbians in their culture(which is Roman Catholic). I think the Catholic child molesters played a part in that. But anyways, I asked, why are so many people gay in the Philippines? She said, I don't know but maybe it is because in the Philippines you make more money if you are gay. WHAT!!!!

The Vatican will take a lot of heat for this.

Roman Catholicism has lost credibility long ago. Heck the Pope is even booed at in Italian universities.

It lost much of it's membership to the Reformation and some due to the Vatican II, but now with this pedophile scandal?? It's pretty much done.

He has not changed the official public policy, he has changed the rhetoric and is attempting to change the way Gays are treated by Church members.

I suspect this is all leading to a Vatican III.
