Wow, this is what passes for journalism and investigative reporting by the NY Times? Not surprising this article comes from the paper known for having writers completely make things up.

Everyone in America knows Ohio is where you go for a shot at the American dream. Why would this paper so boldly lie to the American people? Have they no shame?

More stupidity from the left, once again this crap doesnt factor in cost of living

They use mean annual and five year means in trend analysis. Don't tell me I have to explain the difference to you. "

I still remember going to Ft. Wayne, Indiana for work one January; 9 degrees below zero, snow all over the place, they had made arrangements for employees to stay overnight nearby so they would be sure to come to work the next day...

and I thought "WHY WOULD ANYONE LIVE HERE?"

    But I'm a weather wimp

interesting how the graphic shows colors on the map but has nothing in the legend with the corresponding color.
    Orange: what does it mean?

What would you say the worst thing is? Visited family a few times and for me the weather is the reason that I try to get out as fast as I can. It's like florida but more hellish.

The weather is the pits. The general animosities of the people there overwhelm any consideration of the weather. Maybe a little education and genuine patriotism would help?
