    Yup. I was sad.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
    - -- The Buddha

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

I was worried about Dixie for a while. He had all the "I'm gonna snap" symptoms. Maybe he's gone to Germany to collect his millions.

Ahhh. I'll be one of the first to welcome him back. Kinda have a soft spot for the guy. It's like seeing someone trying to roll a boulder up a hill. Ya just know what's gonna happen.

He was unique and did contribute. He did generate a lot of debate.

Most of us would welcome him back.

    Great analogy.

Unlike Yurt, Dixie's meltdowns were classic.

I didn't think he was all that interesting. Kind of like a child with a copy of Wittgenstein, or Russel. A lot to say, and they think it's super profound, but it doesn't go past that exterior layer.

I am not saying dixie made awesome points or that he was even coherent half the time, the bottom line is, he would start a thread, and it would go on for 1000 posts.
