We all know what Young said:
"My father had a ranch; we used to have 50-60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes, it takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now. It's all done by machine."
The old fart is just another out of touch throwback Republican moron that hasn't learned that this isn't the 50's anymore. No surprise there.
This reaction I find interesting though:
Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, the number two Republican in the upper chamber, was also quick to seek distance from the comment. He blasted Young in a statement, saying migrant workers come to the country for work and opportunities, not to "hear ethnic slurs and derogatory language from elected officials."
"The comments used by Rep. Young do nothing to elevate our party, political discourse or the millions who come here looking for economic opportunity," he continued.
In that order. Party first, political discourse second, people third.
Party first.
Right or wrong?

Also, it says he continued with the last sentence after making the comments in the previous paragraph. It's a pretty strong rebuke and he did not respond like a stormfronter with some unverifiable quote from LBJ. I can't see any reason to crticize Cornyn's response.
Leviticus 19:33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong. 34 The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the homeborn among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Ease of listening/reading? I think you went to school in reverse. This wasn't a Jerry Lee Lewis show, this was a sentence. Putting the people last isn't exactly lighting the piano on fire.
The Republicans used to be responsible, they used to care about fiscal shit - the shit that makes up most of the political discourse - but then they became drunk whores spending like Clinton in a porno shop, and now they want to base their strength on moral issues, and this clown decides to step in and talk wetback. Then the establishment comes in and says the party is hurt.....then discourse, then people.
Clowns. As if it wasn't bad enough.

Sorry, meant to post the link to the full article I got above hocus pocus from:

We always seem unable to realize that legislators are like the easiest job to replace. Thousands of qualified professionals running around doing real jobs. Why can't the parties just implement a policy where they try to force out fuck-ups like Young?
"It [the draft] is duty rather than slavery. I part with the author on the caviler idea that individual freedom (whatever that may be to the person) leads to nirvana, anyone older that 12 knows that is BS."

Because qualified professionals are used to accountability, unlike those that work for the government. Professionals have to answer to people whether bosses or shareholders, politicians answer to voters who are generally, ahem, stupid, and have no direct dog in the fight. This comment shoudn't piss someone off because of a party, but because it shows this old fool is no longer operative in our society. Invariably though he is a Republitard, so maybe it is warranted...

Yes, the people are pretty fucking stupid. It's part of the reason why we got stuck with Byrd and Thurmond for all those eons. "Oh, no, who else could possibly learn their way around the Senate and bring home the bacon?!!? Arrggh, migraine setting in!"

If I got elected to office, I would make it a point to ignore my donors just to see how much it hurts me when I go up for re-election.
Is Pikachu a communist?

well cornyn is correct, repugs must not say what they think, just what the party line is...of course the 'new' party line(s) are mostly lies designed to bring more minorities into the party...their main problem is how many will believe their lies and will they lose their 'base'

Imagine if there had been this much outrage over Byrd using the word nigger and belonging to the KKK.
Guess there is no need for the GOP to support immigration reform now
