I put a picture/quote from Malcolm X in my signature, but it's disappeared twice. The attachment is still there when I go to edit it, but the image simply doesn't show up. It fixes itself when I delete it and put it in again.
Why is this?

no, it very likely is the problem. he talked specifically about uploading his image to JPP, which implies he would need to use the sigpic bbcode like a I mentioned. If you have it hosted off site you can just do your standard img tags.
