Default Those who believe in heaven commit more crimes

Leviticus 19:33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong. 34 The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the homeborn among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

Did you mean the opposite? That's much stranger.

We need to create a new religion then, one without a heaven but with a hell.

Perhaps he's just new to the subject, and mentioned it instead of the alternative precisely because it's not quite as bizarre.

/scratches head.......why you think their position on gay marriage has anything to do with the issue of whether there is a heaven or a hell I have no idea.....as for there being "plenty of those" could you at least mention one religion?.........

back to the OP, I should think there is no surprise that those who think there is no consequences are more willing to do things than those who think there may be consequences.....

however the title of the thread is an outright lie......the study indicated that those who believed in heaven AND hell were less likely to commit a dishonest act......those who believed in heaven but did NOT believe in hell were more likely........so I guess those who don't believe there is a heaven are more willing to post misrepresentations in thread titles......

What? Who said anything about gay marriage?

I gave you a link to a well known preacher who rejects the idea of hell.

Here is a priest, who says the same.

There are many like them among Christians. The Jewish faith is open to interpretation about the afterlife.

They can commit the crime, repent and still get into heaven.

Sounds specious to me considering most Americans believe in heaven. It's about the same as saying those who believe in gravity commit more crimes.

I think it has to do with forgiveness, plus, a lot of the new aged Christians are rejecting the idea of Hell as an eternal punishment, unless you have sinned against the Holy Spirit. There is the concept that all will have a last chance to repent and turn to Jesus after the final battle between Jesus and Satan.

what do you expect when you can do whatever the fuck you want and then merely ask for forgiveness and have all your evil deeds washed away
