Thumbs down Welcome to Poland, Mitt!

As the Tour of Shame continues, Romney gets a warm welcome from his fellow Poles:

I'm sure it won't be long before he announces Kraków as the capital.

    Welcome indeed!

Romney arrived in Warsaw late Monday after a day in Gdansk, where he enjoyed the most enthusiastic reception of his six-day trip. Poland and many other countries will certainly do their best to help the U.S. restore its leadership position," said Walesa, a former president of Poland who last year refused to meet with the visiting Obama.

"After our conversation I am quite confident that you will be quite successful in doing that," Walesa assured Romney. "Individuals who have struggled all our lives really favor the kinds of views and perspectives that you share." He repeatedly said he wished Romney success.

"I wish you to be successful because this success is needed to the United States, of course, but to Europe and the rest of the world, too. Gov. Romney, get your success - be successful," Walesa said emphatically.

Solidarity, the trade union movement which led the Polish struggle against communist rule, distanced itself on Monday from a visit to Poland by U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney, saying he supported attacks on unions in his own country.

Romney was in Poland on the third and final leg of a tour aimed at burnishing his foreign policy credentials and demonstrating that he would be a viable alternative to President Barack Obama on the world stage.

Romney visited the Baltic port of Gdansk, cradle of Solidarity which toppled Poland's communist government in the late 1980s, where he met Lech Walesa, the shipyard electrician who led the union movement during the struggle seen as the start of the end of Soviet domination of eastern Europe.

"Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of (trade union federation) AFL-CIO, which represents more than 12 million employees ... that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees' rights," Solidarity said in a statement.

"Solidarity was not involved in organizing Romney's meeting with Walesa and did not invite him to visit Poland."

I wonder why Robme is in Poland? Are there multi-billionaires he can beg money from there? We know he did it in England and in Israel but going to Poland seems to be a bit odd.

Seems a bit un-American to go to foreign countries and beg for money to help influence an American election. But under Citizens United any drug cartel, communist industrialist, or foreign casino owner can buy a piece of Willard.
