Pete was awesome last night.
Well, I think the whole point of that question, probably, is that from their point of view (older white males) nothing will ever get back to normal again. It's a pretty cool theme, especially since we are still dealing with their resentment over that today, IMO.
Betty was really interesting. I thought she was disappointed because as she said, oh so I'm just fat. I can't wait to see where they go with this. Is this it for Betty? "Middle aged", fat and over at 30? Just getting fatter and fatter? Or will she get addicted to diet pills (which I think were basically speed back then), and get thin? And then what?

I swear, I was prettttty sure don was dreaming when he was strangling that girl... but at the same time I was like O_O, this could be legit
This episode was awesome. I liked the dark undertone nature of it, haha.
Couple of things:
- Apparently during that killing spree in the 60's the one that survived hid under a bed...
- Peggy's shakedown of roger was epic
- Did dawn steal money from peggy? I couldn't tell what the note really said, I think it said "sorry for putting you out" but it was on top of the purse, so I was wondering if the cash was taken. (probably not but I dunno)
- Catch the accordion connection, from the last time Joan was super depressed and made to play it for everyone?
- interesting how joan was the one that wanted to get married and have a family and leave work, and now things seem to be going in the opposite direction for her
- I hope sally doesn't get addicted to those pills, apparently they were used recreationally a lot in the 60's70's

The scene with Roger and Peggy was the best one of the night to me. I love how much confidence Peggy has gained, to the point that she is now teasing Roger Sterling while brimming with sexual and professional confidence. And the way she took that 400 bucks from him was awesome.
But the line of the night was "I'm glad the army is making you feel like a man because I was so tired of doing it." Joan rocked last night. It's really fascinating to watch what is happening with her. I know you're right, she wanted marriage and to quit work, and it didn't work out that way, but I still don't think Joan is going to end up a tragic figure. Betty probably will, but not Joan.
I don't think Dawn took the money, no.

Oh and I loved that Joan alluded to the rape by telling him he's not a good man and he never had been, and then saying "and you know what I'm talking about". I don't think anyone could forget that rape, and it was always just sitting there.

im definitely going to talk about this more when i am not 25 hour sleep deprived. but yes i love pete campell.
i never remember saying identify though O_O
although i probably am kind of like him in some ways.
