Isn't simpler and easier redundant? No scientist would repeat himself unnecessarily that way.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

I thought we were an imperialist nation.....doesn't that mean we have to?.......

Uhhhh....Hey Tom.....no Brit and anyone from the UK I have ever met ever orderd a 0.89 liter of beer or ale. They always ask for a pint. Also, when you go to the fair or the ball game do you ask for a 28cm coney or do you ask for a foot long? Oh....and did Roger Bannister break the 4 minute mile or did he break the 4 minute 1.61 Km? Just asking Tom.

when I was there, the Brits gave directions in miles... That was about a decade ago.

We still do and drink beer in pints, but that's for purely sentimental and economic reasons.

From this it would appear that metrication is the least of your problems.

    What is a 'liter'?
    What is a 'ball game'?
    What is a 'coney'?
    What is a 'foot long'?

If Americans would concentrate on speaking English we might tackle measurement at a future date.

Respect a believers right to believe, but they should damn well repect our right to challenge such utterly illogical notions.

Methinks you should try to understand the difference between inches and centimetres.

Because a foot long is different when I change to metrics.
