Memphis Boy, 10, Saves Sister from Kidnapper

A 10-year-old Memphis boy is being hailed as a hero after police said he fended off a would-be abductor who tried to snatch his little sister.

Jai'von Simpson, brother Jamar Simpson, and sister Terrincy Butler were leaving the school bus just outside their apartment building on Tuesday when a man wearing an orange jacket and a cowboy hat approched them and seized 6-year-old Terrincy by the wrist, according to a police report.

The man began to drag Terrincy away.

"The man came to me, and he grabbed my hand, and he said he loved me," Terrincy told ABC News affiliate WPTY.

Scared as he was, Jai'von grabbed Terrincy's other arm, pulled her from the stranger's arms, and led his siblings to the safety of their apartment.
