During Lawrence O‘Donnell’s “Last Word” segment on Monday, author and MSNBC contributor Touré criticized Rush Limbaugh for allegedly confusing racial politics for racism where GOP front-runner Herman Cain is concerned. Limbaugh, however, didn’t take take the left-wing novelists’ rant lying down. During his Tuesday broadcast, the conservative radio host claimed that while he has been called a racist for the last “23 years,” it is in fact Touré, and those like him, who are the real racists.
Below is a partial transcript and audio of Limbaugh blasting Touré.
So they seek in this case Herman Cain. “Okay, we’re gonna take Herman Cain out,” and we get our dander up and we put a stop to it or slow them down that‘s gonna make ’em mad, too, pure and simply is. And then if we, in their perverted eyes, steal one of their techniques (i.e., playing the race card or accusing the race card of being played), then they really get ticked off, and that’s what Toure was saying here. “Well, they just fire back, and they just use the word ‘racism.‘ That’s racist, you’re racist.” That’s right, Toure! For 23 years we’ve been hearing it. Maybe not from you, but people all over your side of the aisle. For twenty-three years I’m a “racist;” and I’m not, never have been. You guys are. We say it. You don’t like it. Yeah. Exactly. They used it on one of their own and we caught it and pointed it out, but that 2008 presidential campaign was rife with racism on the Democrat side.
However, the piece de resistance', is the original clip of Toure' (at the site), blasting Republican "racial politics", Herman Cain's "mistrel-ism", and the notion that every time anyone on the left points out the racism of those on the right, cries of "racist" or "racism" is heard. Similar to what goes on here, as the counter to any real discussion concerning the racist tactics of the right. The right's embracing of Herman Cain doesn't exonerate those stalwart racists, who are promoting a black man with a slave mentality. Toure' called him "minstrel-y", and so he is......"singing" and using black slang ("awww, shucky ducky") and wanting the Secret Service to call his codename, "Cornbread". Give me a fucking break. We don't need an entertainer, or a minstrel act for a president....we need a competent, coherent, intelligent leader. We already got one.
I submit that the Republican and Tea Parties are racist and discriminatory, at their core. That Herman Cain could support and be endorsed by those parties, indicates that he promotes and subscribes to the party platform, which views non-whites as "the other", and they are only embraced if they support and promote the racist party line.
Where are all the blacks and Hispanics in the Republican Party? Nowhere to be found because the Democrats have done such a good job of brainwashing them, as Herman Cain, himself, testified to?????????????????????????????????????
You keep alluding to the fact that the Democratic Party was the party of slave masters, and that the Republican Party was the salvation of blacks (not quite the truth).
Former S.F. Mayor, Willie Brown, testified on some news show last week, that the notion that the Democratic Party houses racists is a lie. That everyone knows that the Dixiecrats, disgruntled with the Democratic Party, in the 70's, left it in droves, and flooded the Republican Party, where they reside today.
No, see. I believe in the government helping out those that are less than fortunate, you know, the elderly, sick people and children.. and I don't mind that they do it with your money. I don't believe in war, and espionage. I believe in free trade, and accountability. I believe in paying down the national debt, but not at the expense of poor people and the middle class. I believe in universal healthcare for all, as a right, not a privilege. I believe in regulations and rules of law, because if somebody (mostly 'white") can get away with something , they will (or at least try)...because everybody talking about heaven ain't going there. You, in particular.
Why don't you Google the question, because like I told PMP, I'm not here to do your legwork for you. I have posted the link, more than a dozen times, since I've been here, and it has been my claim since the beginning.
I guess in your world, political affiliation determines authenticity...the truth is the truth, no matter who says it. A lie is a lie no matter who is telling it.
The simple reason blacks align themselves with the Democratic Party is because the Republican Party is racist....which is why the Tea Party gets stuck with the label, it being the extreme "right" of the Republican Party.
Where is your proof that the Democratic Party (presently, and outside of Herman Cain) is "racist"? I'll wait.
As is the custom when debating, lets focus on your accusation before we address mine since you made yours first. I did "google" the question, finding nothing of substance. So now I'm giving you the opportunity to provide the evidence yourself, which again, is the custom when debating.
Please. That was hyperbole. I'd have to do you bodily harm if we were in the same room, less touching me. Your bluster and posturing are of no avail. Everyone can see what you're doing. Ask around. Others have seen the post I posted, testifying to when Republicans became Democrats, and Democrats became traditional Republicans.
Some blacks voted for Richard Nixon....but voted overwhelming for Jimmy Carter. Don't you remember? I do.
