debate points:

1. yes, the bible is clear that homosexuality is a sin

2. what does: render unto ceasar really mean? just taxes? or is it also laws?

3. was the USA founded as a christian theocracy?

4. If yes, explain and provide support.

5. If no, same.

6. IMO, as the law stands, no state, nor shall the federal government establish any religion.

7. the primary opposition to same sex marriage is due to religious beliefs. thus, imo, this conflicts with point 6.

8. under current law as established by scotus, which interprets the constitution, marriage is a fundamental right. therefore, blacks and whites can marry, there is no prohibition in inter-religious marriages, and you don't even have to believe in God to obtain a state marriage license.

9. a state marriage license is nothing more than a contract.

10. contracts can be legally broken, with whatever consequences arise under the contract.

11. if marriage, in the US, is only a biblical or godly marriage, why support britney spear's type marriage?

there are more points....but let's get this debate started, which goes on ad nauseam, down to the nuts and bolts. those are my starting points. i challenge posters like SM to counter them. and if anyone wants to support them, feel free.
