this makes no sense to me. our own citizens who go to school in a different state from where they are domiciled, have to pay out of state tuition.

You seem to misunderstand the law.

In-state tuition is made available to graduates of Rhode Island high schools, not any illegal immigrant that wants to go to a Rhode Island state school.

It's a "feel good" law that promotes human trafficking on our border. In order to get here many people go through horrific conditions, incentivizing this creates circumstances where children that may otherwise have been left at home are brought along to observe and participate in these horrific conditions and victimization, this shouldn't be something that we incentivize by promising benefits that they have not earned by entering legally. We need to incentivize legal entry and open more of that rather than attempt to promote more illegal entry so that Democrats can continue to have a wedge issue that they think will help them in the future.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

The idea that people risk their lives to come to the US so that they can get in-state tuition rates at public universities is the stupidest fucking thing I've heard in a long time. You're a smart guy. Act like it instead of parroting this garbage.

It is stupid to suggest that parents are not willing to risk much for the promise to give their children a better life and that the promise of unearned benefits won't promote that is just icing on stupid flavored ice cream cake.

You are generally a smart guy, but when it comes to something like this you get partisanly stupid. Can you tell me why illegal immigration changed from migratory workers who would return and not bring their families along?

We should not incentivize through normalization illegal activity, especially when it is cynically used by one political party in a belief that they will gain politically in the future. Nor should we ignore that the other party likes it because they can continue to be exploited on this side...

I prefer we simply allow more in legally and shut off illegal entry and incentives for such entry. Punish the employer rather than the immigrant who entered illegally. Allowing them to re-enter legally, and earn the benefits... Incentivize entry that doesn't include inhumane conditions and inhuman criminal activity.

You probably should have read past the headline for the article you posted:

Rhode Island's higher education body, the Board of Governors for Higher Education, decided last week to allow illegal immigrants who graduate from state high schools to pay in-state tuition at the state's three public colleges. The board was urged to do so by the state's independent governor, Lincoln Chafee, who used to be a Republican senator.

your comment reads that this is already the law, eg., it has nothing to do with residency retarded faggot. of course the new law changes the residency requirements. i fail to see how this makes sense. it screws legitimate citizens from other states retarded faggot.
