Default Obama can't say how many jobs will be created

Members of Congress now have in-hand the full text of President Obama's jobs plan, but one key ingredient is missing: how many jobs the White House expects it to create.

If you ask the White House, that is by design.

    Default Obama Hazza Crayon

Is it water colors or a coloring book?

Just asking in case Congress needed crayons or paint brushes.

You know that if he gets this pile of tax and spending bill passed he will claim he saved the economy and 2 Billion Jobs. And if he doesn't lay those claims Chris Matthews and the rest of the pukes will.

Plans that pretend to offer an actual number of jobs that will be created are bullshit plans that are lying about something there's a great deal of non-determinism about.

i don't think anyone can accurately predict the actual number of jobs. but if you are going to garner support for a bill that costs half a trillion dollars and title it a "jobs" bill, i don't think an estimate is to much to ask for. imo, it shows obama has no clue and just believes throwing money around will solve any problem.

The only reason the GOP wants an estimate is to either slam the bill as not producing enough jobs if they make a conservative estimate or to slam Obama if the bill passes and estimate was too high (like the unemployment numbers in 2009). Pretending that this political gimmickry has any actual substantive merit is stupid.

The last time the GOP controlled the White House and promised jobs, things didn't work out either, did they?

who says only the gop wants estimates? do you have a link for that. if no democrat wants an estimate, dems are more sheep than i thought.

you're actually making this a political gimmick by claiming that obama won't give an estimate because he is afraid he will be wrong and thus it will be used against him. because of this fear, we must just blindly accept that it will create "jobs"....maybe 3 jobs, but hey, he can claim it created jobs. if you can't give a rough estimate on the number of jobs you think will be created from a bill that cost a half trillion dollars, something is wrong with that picture. he either has no faith in the bill or is just plain ignorant and believes blindly that throwing money around fix things and more importantly knows that throwing money around like that will likely create some temporary jobs and appease his base.

I don't know why you give a shit about a jobs estimate when you reject the economic principles on which such estimates are based.

The other trouble with these sorts of estimates is the baseline. Not only do you have to accurately predict what the jobs bill will do but you have to accurately predict what the economy would do in the absence of the jobs bill. If you get the baseline wrong and are too optimistic you end up with a bunch of know-nothing jackasses that don't know their asses from their elbows claiming that the jobs bill did nothing or made the economy worse. Sound familiar?

he said the jobs would have shovel ready jobs. he specifically mentioned some areas in which jobs would be created. making an estimate based on the amount of money spent is not that difficult. businesses do it all the time. you're too much of an apologist for obama and too ready to make excuses for him.

    Here's an estimate:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...mfNK_blog.html

    What's wrong with that one?

It's obvious why the Administration isn't putting out an estimate and leaving it to others to do it. If you want to call me an apologist for pointing out the blindingly obvious go right ahead.

we get it, you're apologizing for obama being too afraid to put an estimate out there in a bill specifically about jobs. way to sell your plan, allow others to do your work for you.

I'm sure the GOP would accept Obama's word on it rather than the word of independent analysts, particularly in light of their praise of the estimates his administration put out for the 2009 stimulus. Under the circumstances, what upside is there for Obama to put out his own estimates when the independent analysts will put out their own estimates anyway?
