Currently reading "The Washington War" by James Lacey, published in 2019. Fascinating and beautifully written story of the political and personal maneuverings in FDR's orbit during the war, particularly the early years.

Check out "Lincoln On The Verge" by Ted Widmer. Simon & Schuster, 2020. Great story of Lincoln's adventure packed 13 day train journey from Springfield to Washington following his 1860 election.

What's interesting about Hitler's book is everybody assumes racism is the central thesis, but this isn't true at all. Racism is an adjunct to Hitler wanting what he sees as an idyllic world of likeminded people living in a backwards 19th Century society.
