I was tolerating Mara Liason of NPR on 'the panel' the other day at Fox News, and I was amused by her lack of ability to ever look directly into the camera, she just looks to the left and right, and never at the camera. It's almost as if she thinks we aren't important enough for her to talk to or something...must be a pinhead thing. Anyway, she was droning on and on about how the Republicans don't have a candidate yet... and *breathless* they better get one soon! And I'm like.... Why Mara? She never really explained.
Then I am flipping through the channels, and there is some other pinhead yammering the same thing... Oh, the republicans are in trouble, they don't have a candidate... oh my... oh no... what are they going to do? Panic.... maybe they can draft Christie? Oh well, this is just going to be a cakewalk for Obama anyway, it's his election to lose...
Can someone explain to me what the all-fire importance is, in the GOP settling on a single candidate at this particular time? I mean, if it were May 2012, and we still didn't have a candidate... I could understand your concerns, but this is very EARLY in the season, not LATE. We're really just getting started, some have jumped in... others will later... then we really have to listen to some debates, hear what each person has to say, how they come across to the people. When we are done with this process, we will have a candidate who can and will beat Barack Obama. Rest assured, there is no scenario where Obama goes unchallenged.
It is still a long way to November of 2012. Ronald Reagan didn't even announce he was running for president until November 13, 1979. After that, we had a year of debates and conventions, and finally, the election. I see no reason the Republicans need to "find a candidate" for Mara and the Pinheads, and I don't hear any of these idiots explaining to anyone WHY they think this is so breathlessly important and urgent?

You do have a candidate, unfortunately a lot of wingnuts don't like him. It doesn't matter. Repelicans have sunk their presidential hopes with Ryancare.

Ryan will be the sacraficial lamb on the alter of TebagNation

agreed, Dix.....I'm not even going to consider who I want to support until January, 2012........
1) I actually agree with Ditzie on this one. There is NO need to rush out a candidate. Wait until November to announce. The public does NOT need multi year campaigns. If you can't convey your message between November and the primaries, then you are not good enough to be President.
2) Mott.... as usual is a moron.... Ryan is the ONLY one who has the backbone to present a plan. People may or may not agree with what it entails, but he at least has offered up a potential solution. Where is Reid's alternative? Or Pelosi's? Obama is wavering all over the place as far as providing details on how to cut down the insane spending spree DC is on.
3) The Reps do not have a candidate yet, no matter what the dumbass from Ohio has to say. They have a few potentials, but there is no solid frontrunner as of yet.

sure it's fun to mock the hollow stuffed shirt clown possie that is the current field.
But, it's the economy stupid
And, Obama like many turbo-libs has about a half dozen dem playing cards he can't let go of that could sink the recovery faster than Cain can ask if you want extra cheese on that pizza.

You need to go study your history cause your completely fucking clueless. Why the fuck do you think Medicare was created in the first place? Ryancare isn't leadership. That's the problem witn the right wing, they think moving backwards in time is leadership. It's not. You have to move forward! Ryancare is just the same old tired failed public policy that existed prior to Medicare.

Republicans are now starting to challange democrats for ability to shoot at thier feet.
Cutting spending is great.
Republicans cutting only spending on the poorest is retardedly short sited and stupifying

Study history.... that is a good thing.... you should actually TRY it. History has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that trying the SAME thing over and over and over again and expecting different results is INSANE.
You are taking ONE PORTION of Ryan's plan and pretending that is the plan in its entirety. You are also attempting to put HIS idea's on the back of whomever the Reps end up running. As I stated, (and you ignored) the majority of this country WANTS a plan to reduce the deficit spending insanity that is prevalent in DC. They may not like every detail of Ryan's plan, but AGAIN.... they do note the FACT that the Dems HAVE NO PLAN. Ryan's plan is a starting point. Intelligent people understand that. Obviously this is why you fail to do so.

The problem is fund raising- The run is no longer just about message, it's about how much money you can raise. Obama cannot run on his record so he is going to run on smear my opponent and mediscare propaganda. We do need a front runner that does not have the crappy health care baggage Romney has. Trust me when I tell you the reason you hear very little attacks on Romney from the left is because of his health care mess. Obama wants to run against him. Though Romney would be a better pres then Obama- He is not what this country needs, but he is someone who could not righteously attack Obama on health care.
Wanted to add-not attacking Romney openly before the primaries is unnecessary. It just hangs in the air that conservatives are not in love with him...and that is why the Obama press keeps yammering about how we don't have a front runner, the obvious slam against Romney is just that "we don't want him as our front runner".
