It can be, but in every case I have ever heard of it is that way in all states. There are different time limits in which to file, but not a different obligation to file. This is another way to keep third parties from running easily.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

I don’t really have a thing about uniforms. But the whole fireman fantasy scenario is pretty hot. I wish Rob would post pics of it. It’s not like I believe Damo’s denial. lol

Weird. Must be a Heartland thing.

I had like six, or seven parties choose from in voting for the California Governor

All that regulation and rampart liberalism in CA, it has to be totally defunct and just plain falling apart with no growth rates and such ??
All the business closed because of the Ca minimum wage, no places to live because of rent control. Poor pitiful CA, I guees Nevada will just buy the whole dilapited mess in a few years...

We do, as well. However, laws are consistently made to keep them as small as possible. Usually signature requirements are huge. In one East Coast state they required a certain percentage of votes to keep them "official" and the Libertarian Party and others lost even a Party Mention on the ballot. It isn't a "heartland" thing, it is a party politics thing.

Damo's right. Both major parties "collude" -- without, be it noted, any consultation or outright conspiracy necessary -- to keep other parties off the ballot as much as possible. They've just been less successful in California than in most states.
