Default What group is preventing an up or down majority rules vote?

The Cons are all upset because the Democrats are going to use the Deem and Pass rule...

But thats only because the Republicans are preventing an honest majority rules vote using the fillabuster rule!!!

you seem to have missed the part where so far 216 House Democrats don't agree with the bill that 61 Senators passed.....having a straight up and down vote in the Senate wouldn't have changed that fact.....

You lack a complete understanding of what is happening. The House HAS to vote on the bill which was sent to them by the Senate. They do NOT have the votes to pass the Senate bill as written. Not even with a simple majority. They are not allowed to amend the bill and then pass it, because they MUST pass the bill presented by the Senate... you following so far? So...what they are going to do is... "deem and pass" the Senate bill, after which, they are allowed to pass another attachment bill which will serve the purpose of amending the original Senate bill. The Senate will then have the opportunity to deliberate the attachment bill, and decide if they can support it. Pelosi has assured her colleagues that the Senate will pass the attachment bill, but the Senate dems have raised an eyebrow at this... nothing is ever a slam dunk.

What we have, is a complete convolution of the rules, and an outright disregard for the system and process of passing law. The Reconciliation measure was never intended to be used for something like this, and neither was the "deem and pass" procedure, which was the basis for the unconstitutional Slaughter Rule.

But it's all good, Jarhead... WHEN Republicans take back over, they can run roughshod over your Constitutional rights the same way, you've established the precedent, you've set the standard for Congress' to come! So when that happens in the future, I don't want to hear any complaining from you about the "unfairness" or how it's not "constitutional" to do what they are doing, mmm-kay?

I know better than you what is occuring and the procedure, remember you are a psychitriast.

If the Republicans would drop the fillabuster... we all know that the house and sennate would come up with a majority rules bill. If thats not the case why dont the Republicans drop the fillabuster....and let it fail on its own???

Your responce shows you lack of understanding... What a simpleton.

When you attack my spelling... I know I made my point...

Its the Sennate that is being filibustered...so they cant come to compromise bill, requireing the house to pass the deem and pass procedure to get such a bill.

The Senate passed a bill.... they sent the bill to the House.... the House is either supposed to pass or not pass what was sent by the Senate! They CAN'T! They lack the votes! This has nothing to do with Republicans, it is infighting among Democrats over their own goddamn bill!

You are being disengenous, you know that a majority of the sennate would vote on a new version of the Health Care Bill.. to get a law passed........

If it were not for the fillabuster.
