Default Bushies & war supporters treating election like "get out of jail free card"

I knew it was coming. Anyone with half a brain knew that his supporters would never demand or accept accountability from Bush for the fiasco that is Iraq. Bush was either going to run out the clock until '08 and blame what happened on his successor, or find another way to blame Democrats. We've already seen Bushies on this board & FP bend over backwards to give Democrats shared responsibility for "voting for the war," and our own Dixie has repeatedly laid blame at the feet of Bill Clinton for the Iraq liberation act of the '90's. Yep - the invasion never would have happened without that one.

And what is Dixie's very FIRST reaction to the Dems taking Congress? No silly congratulations or well wishes from Dixie; in his very first post, he said that every single death from 11/8/06 onward would be the fault of Democrats, as well as any eventual outcome in Iraq. SR proclaimed it a victory for the "defeatism" of the left, and said "WE" had succeeded into turning Iraq into another Vietnam (bad decision-making, terrible judgment & incompetence on the part of the admin had NOTHING to do with that one). I have heard similar sentiments from Dennis Miller, John Gibson, O'Reilly & others on the Fox Crew.

You can almost hear the collective sigh of relief on the right. They put us in an almost untenable quaqmire, where people like Kissinger & Baker even say that "victory," whatever that is, is not an achievable goal. They create the conditions for more instability than we have seen in the Middle East in decades (but whatever you do, don't call it a civil war!) They hand over the car keys when they've already driven us deep into the woods after about 1,000 wrong turns, and warned us that 1 more wrong turn will get us lost for good....so you'd better make it right or it's ALL your fault!

This is Bush's war. It will always be Bush's war, even if it doesn't end until 2030. He rushed us in, with cherrypicked intel, and ignored the most important consideration for a commander in chief; namely, are there still other options on the table?

nice analysis. I doubt you get many replies from the right. They really don't have much they can say.

OH, I predicted this at least two years ago: Bush and his fans would never accept accountability for their foolish war - they'll blame their failures on scapegoats.

We've been seeing in in action for at least two years:

First, they tired to blame the "liberal" media: Remember how the commie media wasn't reporting all the good news?

More recently, they're actually trying to blame the american people: Somehow, the american people simply don't have the fortitude and guts to stay the course and see out the end of Bush's visionary policy.

LOL. If I can recall correctly a con actually posted something to that affect? What about the people that didn't die today!

This was the silver lining to Kerry loosing the last election.

I knew had Kerry won, every con in the world would say that Iraq was Kerry's fault and that Kerry ruined it, had America just backed Bush a bit longer Iraq would have been okay.

Its funny America gave Bush everything he wanted till 06' and look where he took us...! HA....

Now, of corse, the second America finally gets fed up and demands a different direction... Bam they jump on the blame the Democrats waggen.

Some will be more respectfull and wait a year or so to start the blame game. Many cant they have wanted someone to blame for so long it hurts to wait any longer.
