When bush was elected (?) he didn't know where the Pacific was, much less know the meaning of the word.

If you feel so inclined a comment would be appreciated.

Respect a believers right to believe, but they should damn well repect our right to challenge such utterly illogical notions.

The remark was reported alone and out of context; who knows what other comments were made or what the topic was? It could easily have been a reference to the fact that he was born in Hawaii. Given the rest of his remarks as reported in the article, that would, in fact, be my guess.

He reached out to locals through several personal notes that delighted his audience, including calling himself "America's first Pacific president," referring to his time in Indonesia and travels in Asia as a boy, and saluting the residents of Obama, Japan.
it is a pretty arrogant comment, it is not reaching out at all...rather another look at me and how great i am comment

and ib1....you add nothing, as usual lately

    You have failed

You make the accusation that the remark was reported alone and out of context; but instead of supporting your complaint, all you did was heap on more conjecture.

Obama stated a fact. He is the first president born in the pacific. We know you guys hate facts and think anyone who uses them is arrogant but that you are reallhy not going to gain any ground with American voters with this idiotic tact.

I think you underestimate the American voters.
