    No kidding!

Joel Osteen and his wife run a mega-church here in Houston and they hold services in what used to be the old Summit. Where the Rockets used to play before they got their new Arena. The place holds 18,000 people and from what I hear, most weekends the building is near capacity.
What kind of country have we become?

One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,”

and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 91 alleged “crimes”?

That's how they keep the numbers down so much lower than public schools.

In 2004, the Saddleback Church in Orange County, CA, pastored by Rick Warren (Obama's friend) was coming in as the third largest church in the US with 20,100 attendees. I am sure that has at least doubled by now.

McCain to Obama. "If you don't like our bill, send troops to help us."

Obama, himself attempted to filibuster Justice Alito, who now sits on the Supreme Court.

The main sanctuary of Yoido Full Gospel Church, Seoul the largest church in the world, can seat 15,000 persons, somewhat smaller than the amphitheater Jesus and Ganid visited in Caesarea. But this church has annexes which can seat additional 15,000 persons. The annexes are connected via cable and believers can watch and hear the sermon Dr. Yonggi Cho delivers personally during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th services. About 30,000 persons worship simultaneously during these three services. (Seven services are offered on each Sunday, but sermons are given by other assisting pastors).

I recall statistics from a class I took eight, nine years ago....the church I attend has 150 families which placed in the top 10% of churches in the country by number of attendees.....thus, 90% of churches at that time would have been smaller than 150 families.....

Not particularly considering it is probably one of many masses, somebody just captured the one with the least people. It's probably the 4 AM mass or something...
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

    it's not an isolated phenomena....

while attendance overall has increased the movement from the neighborhood church to the mega church means that most churches are declining in membership.....
