Default "When Fascism came into power, most people were unprepared"

When Fascism came into power, most people were unprepared, both theoretically and practically. They were unable to believe that man could exhibit such propensities for evil, such lust for power, such disregard for the rights of the weak, or such yearning for submission. Only a few had been aware of the rumbling of the volcano preceding the outbreak.

Evil like confusing people about their sex/ gender and encouraging mutilation of their bodies. Lust for power like using a supposed pandemic to shut down the economy and preventing people from being able to make a livelihood. I guess that must for lower AND evil. Disregard for the rights of the weak like unborn humans whom are but here's by the millions every year. I couldn't agree more.

Americans aren’t confused about sex, the right seems to be, but few others are. No one shut down the economy, the Golden Corral cancelling their buffet for a few months and alike isn’t shutting down the economy. And there is no consensus on abortion, so what in the hell are you talking about?

Quite the opposite, items as a leading Presidential candidate, an exPresident, making public comments about executing critics and it barely getting noticed shows the type of complacency Fromm is talking about

There are intelligent people who have not yet come to grips with the gravity of this situation. I think they will when the bullets start to fly. Which, sadly, IS going to happen sometime in the near future. But I think it may take more acts of violence by Trump supporters before everyone understands exactly what will happen if he is allowed to take power.

The signs of Trump/GOP fascism are clear and in the open. We need to stop treating this threat as merely a question of voting.

That is enormous. They had an insurrection. They are threatening to do it again. That is why the FBI says whitepower is the worst threat to America.

Gardner is one of those buffoons who thinks Jan. 6 was a peaceful tour.

Many conservatives now reject democracy. We have heard countless times on this board alone that "America is not a democracy." Anger and intolerance toward gender identities and sexual orientation that are considered outside of the "norm." The epic spread of misinformation and scapegoating. Toxic nationalism. Hundreds of changes in voting laws since the last election, restricting voting for many Americans. A radical court system that promotes one ideology.

The right is very visibly transitioning into a party of fascism.
