Talking Newspaper corrects 'Jackass'-Keith Olbermann mix-up

The Los Angeles Times Calendar section on Thursday accidentally listed MTV's hit series "Jackass" as airing on MSNBC at 7 and 10PM.

7 and 10PM just so happen to be when "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" replays on the West Coast.

    Innocent mistake or Freudian slip?

You decide as you read what Andrew Malcolm deliciously reported Friday:

Thank goodness The Times is the forthright, ethical institution that it is.

And when a mistake happens, it rushes to set the journalistic record straight with an honest repair.

Here is an actual correction from Page A4 of today's print edition:

    FOR THE RECORD

TV listings: The Prime-Time TV grid in Thursday's Calendar section mistakenly listed MTV's "Jackass" show on the MSNBC cable schedule at 7 and 10 p.m. where instead MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" should have been listed.

It's not the Worst Mistake in the World.

But without this kind of correction, online too, a few thousand people might have tuned into MSNBC, the Obama administration's favorite cable channel, expecting to see a "Jackass" show, and instead they'd have found Olbermann.

Worse, what if nobody noticed the difference?

Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark.

    How about "Freudian Jackass"?

I respect Olbermann, he speaks/spoke about issues that other pundits wouldn't!

From what little I have seen Uberman. He is closer to truth than most of the talking heads.
Bush doubled the debt from 5 trillion to 10 trillion.
    Proving tax cuts work!

Bush asked for and signed for the TARP money.
The Republican senate leader backed Bush on this.

    LOL

You and the other fifty idiots that still watch him are the only people that think that. Everyone else in the free world realized he is just another blowhard. You watch his show and he still whines about Bush, Palin and Bill O'Reilly. Meanwhile, if Obama farted, Olbermann would report on what a wonder smell it was and how much better we all are for having him as our president.

It is good to have another view of the news, and he does have a better record for accuracy than does FAUX News.

Please lay off the Koolade morons....
If it wasn't for Bill O"Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh..Olbermann would just sit silently at his desk with his thumb up his ass.....(an improvement, I might add)

Thats his entire show....complaining about the Fox Network and Conservative radio.....

Hes the typical Media Obama Whore...interviewing only guests that agree with him....Yes, Kieth...Right, Kieth,....Absolutely, Kieth...Thanks, Kieth.....give me a fuckin' break, Kieth..
    Put blame where it belongs
ATF decided it could not regulate bump stocks during the Obama administration.
It that time," the NRA wrote in a statement. "The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semiautomatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations."
The ATF and Obama admin. ignored the NRA recommendations.

even though his knowledge of such issues is negligible at best.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

Cracker is a racist term against whites. Froggie must think that it makes her look hip to use a racist term against conservatives. She's a stoopie.

Yeah, she has called all of us white cracker asses. She thinks she is so cute doing that. Her brain is fried.
McCain to Obama. "If you don't like our bill, send troops to help us."

Obama, himself attempted to filibuster Justice Alito, who now sits on the Supreme Court.

Well that beats Savage whose name is Weiner.

Or Sean Hannity whose real name is Mordechai Wiesenstein

The two cable commentators I dislike most are Hannity and Olbermann.

I cannot stand Hannity's east coast style of always interupting always trying to score political points on every statement and never letting an actual discussion take place. F*ck, I'm partisan but he is just hardcore partisan.

Olbermann is a pompous ass who is just a hack. His lame attempt at feuding with Fox News for ratings appeals to a few partisan hacks like himself but very few else.

Do you have a link for the Hannity name? The only one that I've found was a page on the "Encyclopedia Dramatica" that also linked directly to a Nazi site.

Seriously, I think you've gotten some poor information.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
