    I don't have a beef with beefy.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

Yeah, that is pretty much the only black guy I've ever seen at an Obama protest. Imagine how awkward it must've been to be around him.

He is just a 2nd amendment demonstrator. If anyone wanted to kill the president, they wouldn't be so obvious. But carrying a gun near the president is not, IMHO, a classy way to demonstrate for the 2nd amendment.

He should be comforted with the knowledge that he had an SS snipers weapon pointed at his head the whole time, though.

Why didn't these types carry guns to Bush rallies?
Bush doubled the debt from 5 trillion to 10 trillion.
    Proving tax cuts work!

Bush asked for and signed for the TARP money.
The Republican senate leader backed Bush on this.

These people are protesting the Obama rally. The ones who protested Bush, for the most part, wouldn't carry a gun in public.

It does make a security risk quite obvious though. If enough people carried guns to a presidential speaking rally, the SS wouldn't have enough manpower to "monitor" (IE point snipers at) them all, and they could easily overwhelm the SS security.

I bet webbway is pretty conflicted about this.
There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.

The SS controlled the access to the rally being held indoors. Someone outside with a .223 rifle is not going to do much.

But I get your point. Actually, you are agreeing with SmarterThanYou on this issue.

well, it wouldn't here in TX, considering that open carry is currently prohibited. something I hope to change next session.

The scenario I described above would be nearly impossible to organize.

I think if there were any venue in which the president spoke, and anyway had a gun (especially something as accurate as a rifle) with a straight line of sight to him, and it was impossible to move him due to legal reasons, they would probably either cancel the whole event or find some way to get the president out of his line of site.

If for some reason they couldn't remove the person with the rifle, they would send a Secret Service agent to stand in front of the man with the rifle. And have plenty of men standing around the president.

Well there is such a thing as dead right but still dead. As for me. I'm not going to be practicing open carry with SS agents around. I don't think I want to be under their sites.
