A multi-cultural nation is hard to pull off.
It always has been in the past, and some people are better at it than others.
Homogenous nations have the solidarity to do more things collectively.
Multi-cultural nations tend to be socially regressive--like America.

The reality is that people want different things, and from our very inception as a nation,
we foolishly put former colonies with very different values into the same new nation.

Every state has all kinds of people in it, but only one group of people within each state--the majority--gets their way.

Anybody who doesn't agree that most interior states and most coastal states have, within their majorities, radically different values
is not being honest. Interior states tend to be far less cosmopolitan and far more provincial. We see in our national politics that both groups
have enough clout to make the other pretty miserable.

Both sides constantly complain, but neither side has the courage to take the radical steps required to alleviate the situation.
The 50 state American format is an abject failure,
and both sides are too optimistic in thinking that they can make it work.
