Actually it proves what fascist dictators and authoritarian Nazi types have known all along: Convince the citizens that the media's reporting can't be trusted, and they'll support those who want to rule over them. There's a reason why our Founders wrote the guarantee of free speech into our Constitution, and there's a reason why fascists like Trump and DeSantis and others want to destroy that freedom.

It doesn't make them THE media. You might ask yourself, How did they get there? Why are other similar media outlets like CNN, or worse, MSNBC, not as successful? My reason would be that the further you lean to the Left, the more people stop paying attention to what you are saying.

As the best example, talk radio. Conservative talk radio is very successful. Leftist talk radio is an unmitigated joke by comparison. Al Franken's attempt to take Leftist talk radio national with Air America failed disastrously.

It could well be, and likely is, that most people don't agree with Leftist views so they don't watch, read, or listen to Leftist media.
