Default Russian patriots attack Putin's forces

Anti-Putin Russian militia crossed from Ukraine into Russia's Belgorod Oblast, and fought a two day battle against Kremlin forces.

Anti-Putin Russians say they launched a cross-border attack from Ukraine.

So people sympathetic to Ukraine attacked, were defeated, and nothing changed so what is the story here?

It shows that Russian folks are not all behind Putin and are willing to take action against him. But hey, some folks crossed the lines and sat in tanks making movies for the Viet Cong, some Americans have become ISIS members, etc. ... It doesn't change history much nor is it shocking that some folks do not agree with their government even to this level.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

They are willing to risk their lives to bring about the ultimate defeat of Putin.

The Russian dissidents I know think the quickest way to depose Putin is by his military defeat in an illegal war of aggression he started

The story in Russia is the lack of security to have allowed this to even occur.
My guess is that would be the same story “here”.

1420 man-in-the-street interviews in Russian towns show many Russians are against Putin's war of choice. The old people are for it, but the younger people want to see the world and travel for fun and business. Many have family and friends in Ukraine. Putin does not have the mind control he thinks he does.

Or it shows that the whole production is to murder people and use costly munitions.

I think Putin's days are numbered. If he's sane enough, he'll negotiate an exit strategy. Otherwise, he can only look forward to a short flight out of a 10th story window.

Ha! Either that or to meet his demise choking on some special Putin tea.

    LOL That would be just.

I think the cracks in Putin's power are growing larger and hope he doesn't last through the end of the year. The sooner he is gone, the sooner peace can return to Europe.

A regime change in Russia would also change the dynamic with Xi and Iran.
