Default Twitter’s launch of DeSantis’ presidential bid underscores platform’s rightward shift

NEW YORK (AP) — Two years ago, signing a bill intended to punish Twitter and other major social media companies, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted the platforms as “suppressing ideas” during the COVID-19 pandemic and silencing conservative voices.

    What a turnaround.

The new Elon Musk-owned version of Twitter helped DeSantis launch his bid for the Republican presidential nomination Wednesday. Though it was marred by technical glitches and skewered by the candidate’s critics, the forum nevertheless underscored Twitter’s unmistakable shift to the right under Musk, who bought it for $44 billion and took over in October.

Default What is going on with Elon Musk and Ron DeSantis?

Musk wants to crush unions and declare the United States a free-to-make-as-much-as-you-can-on-the-backs-of-working-stiffs zone.

He calls himself a “free speech absolutist”, but that’s utter baloney. He wants to elevate the speech of people like DeSantis but suppress the speech of workers who want to unionize.

He’s even gone along with Turkey’s recent ban on anti-regime comments in the run-up to the Turkish election.

LOL. No he shouldn't. JPP wouldn't be nearly as entertaining without BP.

You ignorant fool. DeSantis got more attention with his announcement over Twitter than all the other media outlets combined. Your fecking asshat announced from his basement.

Yeah that's a good point. BP is also a good reminder of just how unhinged the left is.

We are still talking about DeSantis today... That's a successful launch.

I'm still waiting for one of the fascists, Owl, BP, to explain how exactly Twitter "helped" the nations greatest governor? Twitter spaces are open to all. If Eric Swalwell wants to announce his run for presidency in a joint call with Fang Fang and his boss, Emperor Xi, he is welcome to. DeSantis used a public accomodation - but the AP is melting down because Twitter didn't censor him.

Well, if you don't like DeSantis you would think so. However, it is still relevant and got more coverage than the other candidates because of the glitches they had to overcome. I think you should talk about it more. Post a link too. Make sure everyone hears about DeSantis and how he is running for President now... The more coverage the better, IMHO.

Why do you do this shit?

Why do you trash your own side? I get that you are on team Trump, but attacking DeSantis is stupid and only helps the fascists, the democrats.

When the dust settles, I'll vote for the Republican that is the nominee. Joe Biden and the Nazi party are the enemy of America - eating our own is suicidal.
