I'm not shocked. He's been lying about everything.
McCain to Obama. "If you don't like our bill, send troops to help us."

Obama, himself attempted to filibuster Justice Alito, who now sits on the Supreme Court.

Hmmm... It seems to me he speaks of incrementalism. Like somebody we know on the board.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

He is absolutely desirous of eliminating private insurance. He is now using spin (otherwise known as lying) to say he is not after single payer...

I want to eliminate private insurance, but I'm able to accept this plan because it's almost as good at reducing costs.

how many times have I said asshat wins all arguments.
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

Obviously his positions changed over time as he decided to go down the route that was most politically pragmatic. There's nothing wrong with that. Obama has drifted to the right over the years, if not in his heart, just to get stuff done. Sometimes you have to realpolitik. If Obama had come out guns a-blazin proposing single-payer healthcare, he would've gotten absolutely nowhere. So he proposed a compromise system that had most of the positives of single-payer but addressed the (illegitimate) concerns of the right.

Yeah, it is a blatant lie, I have a tape where he says he DOES support single payer.

Bull-pucky. He talked bout how it can't be done all in one shot, how it would have to be done over time...

It's incrementalism, exactly what Onceler speaks about here on this board. He didn't change plans, he simply began implementing them.

There are countries that have a single payer system (universal medical) and still utilize private "enterprises". Canada is one of them.

For example, blood tests. When a doctor orders blood tests one can get them done for free at a government clinic. Take a number and wait, maybe an hour or so, for the blood draw. Or one can go to a private clinic and be finished in 10 or 15 minutes and be down approximately $100.00 to $125.00.

If one is earning over $100/hr which is about $200,000/yr then it probably is beneficial for them to pay for the blood draw as they'll lose more money waiting at the government clinic than if they paid at a private one and returned to work.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.
