What's going on is claiming to a respected career in order to weaponize it and use it to bash others. It seems to be mostly RWers who do it, have you noticed? Damn, they're some pathetically insecure losers.

There are open primaries in some states. It works better than most people expect.

If RWers means Trumpers, I agree. Although, sad to say, a lot of RWers are Trumpers these days. On JPP, they're almost exclusively Trumpers but it's a skewed demographic. Most JPP RWers are over 60, bitter and angry. I doubt most of their claims of professional accomplishments.

Agreed that many of the claims seem to be to use it as a club. Like Sybil acting like a 6-year-old claiming the family dog broke a window, most of those claiming professional success can't seem to back up their claims with their online behavior.

Kind of interesting isn’t it? Sure, polls show a snapshot in time but based on some of the reactions here you’d think this was the first Presidential primary they have been through.

My favorites are the WSE terrorist and Nazi supporters dancing around violence. I'm a big believer in both support for the rule of law and taking down such anti-American fuckwits in the most efficient manner possible.

At this stage in the 2024 GOP presidential primary cycle, the fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) hasn't officially declared his candidacy for his party's nomination feels more like an administrative afterthought than a sign of genuine electoral reluctance.

With his reputation bolstered by a rare good showing during an otherwise disappointing GOP midterm election, DeSantis has spent the early part of 2023 crisscrossing the country with conspicuous stops in presidential primary hubs like Iowa and New Hampshire, hawking his "make America Florida" memoir, and weighing in on matters ostensibly outside the scope of someone content to stay in state government for long.

Despite his early reputation as a potential Trump-slayer — coupled with a number of encouraging, if largely premature, polls — the light from DeSantis' political star seems to be dimming.

He had been intentionally NOT campaigning against anyone but mainly Trump but for some reason decided to start doing it.

    Bad idea IMO.

It was a very interesting strategy to chose and just maybe a brilliant one but going wobbly is never a good idea.

The other factor is that all this noise over Trump and indigments are just headwinds for him.

I think it's just a lot of chest beating. It's the most arrogant posters who are making conclusions and stating them as gawd-given fact who think any productive prediction about an election 20 months from now can be made today.

If you study PATCO, they deserved what they got. It illustrated perfectly how unions festered into a beast that felt they were invincible. Reagan's union busting was necessary at that point in time. Especially the air traffic controllers.

The Feds. actually bargained in good faith for once. Reagan took over during a flat economy that went back to Nixon. His trickle down nosense showed temporary gains for some in the economy, but we all know that it's a flawed theory that never works. So everyone remembers a period of growth that ended up being a disaster when the bills came due.

There are drawbacks for sure, but at least it doesn't lock Independents out of the process.

That's my thought. I've never been a spoiler for either party, but I have participated in every primary election without being registered with a party. It saves me like 2,000 meaningless phone calls during the campaign.

The nation rejects his policies. trump has no policies to reject, so the nation just wants him gone.
DeSantis is somewhat unique. Does he wear a foil hat? Of course! But, I find it interesting that he is not a member of the Religious Right Abortion Ban Club, as so far, he has only limited abortions to having to be performed under 90 days of inception, and that is much better than in my state here in Texas, where our TRUMPTARDED governor is banning them completely.

But, he is a Homophobe big time. And his policies about Black History being taught in schools is racist as hell. And what an idiot, referring to the Ukraine Invasion as a Border Dispute- on national TV? How embarrassing is that for a man that had somewhat of a military background?

Ron DeSantis- Not quite ready for PRIME TIME!

No Sir. Sorry Republicans! But Trump or DeSantis, either one, can hold a candle to Joe Biden.

You better be looking for someone to nominate who can actually win!

I've never seen the Republicans offer up such weak choices before, that automatically guarantees the Democrats such an easy win!
