What happens if you get banned from APP?
I've decided to add this post because a lot of people are confused about our standards here.
On APP, we generally ban first and ask questions later. If we let everyone have a 1st, second, and third chance, then we'd end up with 100+ people on JPP having multiple chances and that's pretty much going to undermine the entire nature of the forum. The rules are very clear, everyone reads them and agrees to them before being granted access here.
If you violate a rule, typically you'll be unceremoniously prevented from posting in APP, with no announcement or fanfare.
If you want to get back in, you will have to complete 3 steps:
1) You will self impose a time away from APP that you find is reasonable for your offense. It can be some amount of hours, a day, a week, a month, or longer. We don't have a set standard for this, it is up to each individual to reflect sincerely. If you can't take this forum seriously, we don't want you in it. Generally speaking, the worse your offense, the longer time you should consider self-imposing.
2) When you feel ready to return to APP, PM one of us mods. You must apologize for your offense. Please note: The reasons as to why you were banned are not debatable. Either apologize or move on.
3) You will humble yourself and promise that you will try your best, in good faith, to not make the same mistake again.
The result of this system is that the vast majority of stubborn, arrogant, conceded, and intentionally rude posters willingly or unwillingly self impose a life time ban from APP on themselves, as they can't bring themselves to complete steps 2 and 3. Which is perfectly fine. They aren't wanted in this sub forum anyway.
Those that continually break the rules with reckless disregard will eventually not be eligible to be unbanned at all. A poster will be informed if they are ever permabanned from APP.
Those that want to sincerely participate will always be welcomed back.
