House Republicans presented a resolution that took a firm stance against socialism and its violent dictators. This was met with surprise from the Democrats, especially their minority leader, Hakeem Jeffries, who argued that this vote undermined the party's agenda. This issue calls to mind an old adage: "Scratch a liberal, find a fascist."

In the end, 328 members of Congress voted in favor of the resolution including Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries. However, there were still 86 other Democrats who openly opposed the legislation. These hopelessly lost Democrats made their opposition clear and unashamedly declared their love of Communism.

The perfect example of a Communist/Socialist who actually ran for president is of course Bernie Sanders. His name isn't in the list probably because he identifies as an Independent and not a Democrat. In my book of extreme expertise--all Democrats are Socialists in one way or another, if not in every way. Sick, anti Americanism this Socialism/Communism agenda of the Dems.

In fact, Social Security is a savings program. Money is taken from par\ychecks and saved for your future. Then when you are old you can survive through the SS savings plan. Kids born with lifetime medical problems also get help.
FDR saw that old people were not able to exist without help. When a spouse died, or got too sick to work, help became available.

Help WAS available for the poor and destitute, long before FDR.

Having a public sector is socialism.

Socialism:

The taking of wealth for redistribution (or 'social' redistribution of wealth).

It comes in three major forms:
Fascism, or government manipulation of markets (example: EPA, CPSC, BATF);
Communism, or government ownership of markets (example: Federal Reserve, Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid, Obamacare);
Slavery, or ownership of people.

Democrats want all three forms of socialism. Most seem to favor fascism at the moment.

Because socialism is based on theft of wealth, it can generally only be implemented by oligarchies and dictatorships. It is tyranny.

Capitalism is the only economic system that creates wealth. Socialism cannot exist without capitalism to steal from.

Yes. I build my own roads. I also work with suppliers that build roads for public use. Roads and bridges are built by private companies.
Neither police nor fire services are socialism.
Electricity is usually generated by private companies.
