Default Biden visits border. Now what?

Predictably people still are not happy. Remember that thread I created predicting headlines? I wonder who will win?

Biden departs El Paso after brief border visit without seeing most impacted areas, critics say

Oh my! Who didn't see that coming?

Not even Gov. Abbott is happy.

Gotta give them props for creativity.

What he won't see are the miserable makeshift camps dotted around El Paso that triggered headlines last month about migrants taking over the streets.

On Tuesday and Wednesday law enforcement teams moved through the downtown area, picking up migrants who had entered the country illegally.

As a result, he may get a view of the border but not of the crisis, say infuriated border agents who wanted him to see the scale of the chaos last month.

'It's a dog and pony show,' said a volunteer helping dozens of migrants seeking shelter at the Sacred Heart Church. 'They've cleaned it all up for him.'

Officials say they are just enforcing the rules and that any timing is coincidence.

But a day before the president's arrival and the scene could not be more different to the chaos of late December. Migrant numbers surged then as arrivals timed their journeys to coincide with the expected end of Title 42 — a Trump-era restriction that eventually won a stay of execution at the Supreme Court.

Then hundreds of mainly Venezuelan refugees camped out on the sidewalks around the Greyhound Bus station in downtown.

Now their bundles of clothes and belongings are gone after border agents moved through the area during the week.

Only a few dozen migrants remained on the sidewalk around the Sacred Heart Church downtown on Saturday. Illegal arrivals say they are protected by the church's sanctuary status so long as they do not step off the kerb.

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said his 18,000 members had been waiting two years for Biden to come and see what they had to deal with every day.

He said the White House knew what it was doing with a January visit.

The number of daily encounters had dropped from about 7500 a couple of weeks ago, he said, to about 3300 now — a seasonal pattern that happens every year.

'Biden has all those figures. He knows all the trends. He knows when the best time to come to the border. And he knows that the beginning of January is absolutely the best time,' he said.

I think the situation of Denmark and other Nordic countries now is very instructive. They are now trying to return refugees to Damascus as they have declared it safe.

The left is now saying that no they can't do that because the refugees have stayed in Denmark for too long and have integrated already therefore cannot be returned and that the average refugee stay should be 17 years.

We see in realtime that asylum is really just used as backdoor illegal immigration as the left has no plans to send them back

it's impossible to deport millions in this latest wave as well -we dont even know the identity of many of them
and it's not just the "left" the Omnibus bill had all kinds of crap in thee for processing, making migrants safe etc. while prohibiting spending money for enforcement. The Senate Republicans are sick puppies

We're not talking about millions though. Denmark is deporting less than a thousand back to Damascus iirc and the left will fight for each and every one to stay because again it's not about safety it's about creating a backdoor in the system.

Take the rescue ships in the med. They rescue the boats literally 10 miles of of Libya and despite the Libyan coast guard instructing them to take the refugees back to tripoli which they have designated a safe port the NGOs take them 100s of miles to Italian ports.

Now Biden strolls through the Potemkin village area they cleared all the hundreds of illegal homeless out from, then hops back on the plane for ice cream and Tapioca pudding.

Yep, totally shocking, isn't it? lol He could've showed up down there on an earth-mover and erected a wall and promised more, and they'd *still* be carping and whining.

What do you want to bet that either the new (tiny) (R) majority will ignore the problem, or return to pushing The Ineffective Wall That Mexico Will Pay For?

What we will see now is Brandon being an actual leader and closing down the border. Oh wait hes neither a leader nor a person with a functioning brain...never mind.
