On a lighter note, the humorous background for the song below: Director Robert Altman's composer, the prolific Johnny Mandel, came up with the music and lyrics but Altman felt the lyrics weren't "stupid enough". He wanted the song to be the "stupidest song ever written" so he gave it to his "stupid" 14 year old son, Mike Altman, who rewrote the lyrics in about five minutes. The song became an enduring hit and, being co-writer, his son collected more royalties on it than his dad was paid as as director of the movie.
