One thing I have noticed is that Republicans seem to lack the ability to even consider deflation as a possibility. I would love to be proven wrong here. If PMS can prove a massive movement within the Republican Party in 2005 predicting the deflation of 2008, I really want to hear about it.

What I remember from the time was a lot of Republicans saying we were on the verge of hyperinflation, and Bush ranting about an "ownership society."

Now it makes sense. PMS thinks that Republicans demanding more subprime loans to whites was a warning, not the problem. It was a system that could not work, so doing more of it was just going to fail more.

Repubs did not predict the 2008 crash. They created it.

No. Because that is a lie.

Trump added the most to that 27T in debt and Mitch voted FOR IT, so you are factually wrong and do not know what you are talking about. Debt is cumulative. It is not all Biden's debt. It is the cumulative debt across all Presidencies and it is Republican's who vote and pile it on the MOST.

Here is another FACT you will not like. If you ever want a chance of a Surplus and pay down of the debt you only have that with a Democratic administration and POTUS. We have no examples of that, in the modern age when the GOP is in charge, even when like Trump did, they INHERIT the strong economy to do so.

They do not need to 'stop raising the debt ceiling'. What they need to do, is get rid of the debt ceiling.

Again people need to UNDERSTAND this issue.

If the House today puts forth spending budgets and they pass and the money is spent, there should be NO VOTE as to whether to pay those bills or not. That is derp level dumb and asinine and only something HOp derps think.

Once you vote to SPEND the money, it should be AUTOMATIC that you will pay your bills.

The place to deal with this and institute discipline is in the budget bills prior. So when Trump proposed massive tax cuts for the rich and corporations along with spending that would balloon the deficit, THAT IS WHEN the legislators have to say NO as they can see the impact it will have on debt and deficits that will then require the raising of the debt ceiling after. You cannot let Trump cut revenues, while ballooning spending and then tell the next guy, 'we are not going to allow you raise the debt ceiling to pay it off'. That is derp level dumb.

Lesson learned is don't be a derp.

    OMG.

We have to have a Derp 101 level class.

Lets try and put this as basic as possible.

Imagine you are debt free today with no credit cards or personal debts. You are only spending what you earn.

A bank then gives you a credit card and a Line of Credit with a teaser promotion of 'no payments for first 12 months'. You max out both within a year and now have all sorts of interest and principle to pay back.

You say "I am going to show fiscal discipline and NOT pay those payments'.

Is that discipline or DERP thoughts?

You are (the government is) spending more when you ACCRUE the debt, not when it comes time to pay it.

The debt ceiling only has to do with debt accrued in the PAST. You cannot impact debt accrued in the PAST by saying you won't raise the debt ceiling as you already accrued it, as it happened, ... wait for it... in the PAST.

So saying NO to raising the debt ceiling does NOTHING but make you default on the PAST debt, which does NOT get rid of it, and will just see the Interests rates go up on it (as your Credit rating drops) thus meaning you now have to pay MORE for the SAME debt you put on in the PAST.

So not raising the debt ceiling, ADDS MORE DEBT at a higher interest rate and is the opposite of responsible.

Is that Derp'd down enough or do i need to try and make it even more basic, in explanation?

the right to vote should be removed from society. the majority of our population has proven that they cannot be trusted to do whats in the best interests of a free and prosperous society
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.
