From the number of them who are here of a Sunday morning, gleefully bashing others, my guess is very few of them go to church regularly, if at all. That might account for at least some of their lack of knowledge about the religion they claim to follow. OTOH if they truly want to learn, there's the same Internet they use to come here. lol

Agreed on all points but the question remains: Who are liars and who are mentally ill?

    Stone? Liar.

Most of the rest are mentally incapacitated geezers including Ptif. Reading their responses to other questions by other posters and their comments in general are indicative of demented people in physical pain and mental anguish. This is why I fully support assisted suicide.

It's weird how the MAGAs like to strut around with feigned Christian piety, but their party is responsible for electing the only atheists to the modern American presidency, Trump and Tricky Dick.

Not only were/are those POTUSes atheists, they were among the most criminal leaders we have ever had.

Not a reflection on atheists per se, but a reflection on the fact that MAGAs align with those who are both irreligious and immoral.

That still doesn't excuse exhibiting hateful, bigoted, vicious behaviors. Take Minty, for example (please! lol). She exhibits all the signs of someone with great underlying emotional and mental issues. Yet she flips out when you have pointed that out. Or as her bestie lover Toxic likes to say, she has meltdowns over your observations. If it wasn't true, she'd just ignore it.

As long as they say the right words (pun intended) and hate the same people that the MAGATs hate, nothing else matters. So much for Jesus and His teachings, eh?

Tricky Dick was raised a Quaker but, IMO, somewhere between becoming a fucking lawyer and a politician, he began worshiping money and power.

#45 seems to have always worshiped money, which explains why Putin could so easily own him.

Most untreated mentally ill people are in denial that they have a problem. It's like asking a drunk if they are okay to drive - it's a stupid question to ask a mentally impaired person.

At some point, modern society will have citizens with regular physical and mental health checks. Like physical problems, mental problems are best treated when they are first identified. PTSD is easier to prevent than to cure. Same for many other mental illnesses.

FWIW, a person doesn't have to to be in the military or be shot at to have PTSD.

    https://www.inspirahealthnetwork.org...ntal-illnesses
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), roughly 1 in every 5 Americans is currently living with a mental illness.

Of those, the three most common diagnoses are anxiety disorders, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These three conditions make up around 30 percent of all diagnoses of mental illness in America. While they share many of the same qualities, they’re also significantly different from one another.

Yes, as an adult there is not a shred of evidence Tricky Dick attended Quaker meetings, took any Quaker beliefs to heart, and he never struck anyone as a person with a religious, moral, or spiritual core.

The only thing Trump has any interest in is money, power, and Slavic models young enough to be his granddaughters

Well, at least not after Law school.

Which is why there's no doubt my mind that #45 raped 15-17 year old girls on Pedo Island.

Nixon was the only president who could not get laid. He just struck people as creepy.

I don't think a Quaker could even function as president. Pacifism is one of their most important religious doctrines.

Trump used to walk in on teenage girls getting dressed at his Miss Teen America pageant, so I have no doubt he has a disturbing interest in naked teenage girls.

Agreed. In fact, I've seen many Presidents struggle with their religion in office. Example: Biden and Obama on abortion.

Any Christian should have problems with the death penalty, sending teenagers to die on foreign shores, letting people die because there's no room in the budget to save them, etc.

Saint Augustine devoted a lot of ink to how a Christian leader is supposed to balance their obligation to Christian moral tenets and their obligation as the citizen of a state.

The balance between the NT prohibition against violence and hate, and the requirements of the State was articulated as just war theory - a Christian leader is, in theory, only supposed to engage in morally justifiable war.

    https://www.justplainpolitics.com/sh...07#post4855107

Saint Augustine was a 4th century Christian who lived in Algeria and Italy. He believed that the only just reason to go to war was the desire for peace.

Augustine tried to reconcile Christian pacifism with the world as it actually was; to bring together the pacifist teachings of Jesus Christ with the obligations of Roman citizens - including Christians - to fight for their country when required to.

Augustine accepted that there would always be wars. He thought that war was always a sin, and if there had to be a war, it should be waged with sadness.

But Augustine said that war was always the result of sin, and that war was also the remedy for sin. And if war was the remedy for sin, then war could sometimes be justifiable - but only if it was a remedy for sin.
