Default Quit underestimating Biden, Gingrich warns GOP

    .
Quit Underestimating Joe Biden, Newt Gingrich Warns Republicans:

Gingrich writes: President Biden "has carefully and cautiously waged war in Ukraine with no American troops." He just "had one of the best first term off-year elections in history."

Quit Underestimating President Biden," Gingrich wrote in a column this week. "[C]onservatives' hostility to the Biden administration ... tends to blind us to just how effective Biden has been on his terms."

Why it matters: Gingrich has a point. If you look at Biden's legislative accomplishments, he has exceeded expectations for a Congress where Democrats hold narrow majorities, and a country that's split in two.

Gingrich, 79, told me: "I was thinking about football and the clarity of winning and losing. It hit me that, measured by his goals, Biden has been much more successful than we have been willing to credit."

Biden agrees. Advisers tell me he hasn't made a formal decision about running again — that'll come over Christmas, ultimately made by him and the first lady.

But his friends tell me they think only two things could stop him: health or Jill.

I don’t agree with Newt often, but he’s right in this instance and I’m glad he’s giving Biden the credit he deserves.

I predict he’s going to anger some Democrats and Trumpublicans by trying to work with Republicans.

Absent any economic meltdowns or evidence of high crimes and corruption, he seems well on his way to being rated by historians as a top 20 president.

Gingrich said that while he “deeply” opposes his policies, the conservative hostility to the Biden administration has blinded “us to just how effective Biden has been on his terms.”

Gingrich added, “We dislike Biden so much, we pettily focus on his speaking difficulties, sometimes strange behavior, clear lapses of memory, and other personal flaws.” But in the end, Gingrich said, Biden’s record speaks for itself: “The Biden team had one of the best first term off-year elections in history. They were not repudiated.”

Gingrich also compared Biden to two former presidents — Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower — noting how they were similarly underestimated.

The Trumppers love Newt, but maybe not today.

They really hate anything the conflicts with their delusion.

    Gindrich is right.

1 Biden defeated an incumbent. He joins a short list of presidents that have unseated presidents after their first term.

2 Biden presided over the end of a pandemic that killed a million Americans and when inflation ravaged the world, maintained that rate in the United States 3-4 times lower than our allies as well as our enemies.

3 Biden ended a war we were floundering in for over 20 years and going nowhere.

4 Biden passed major legislation his first 2 years in office making good on many of his campaign promises concerning infrastructure and healthcare costs.

5 Biden encouraged and presided over record oil production for the USA by the end of his second year in office while at the same time preventing all oil drilling on our pristine lands. A feat thought impossible yet
    accomplished in 2 years.

5 Biden presided over his first mid-term election where republicans were expected to win both houses of Congress. He barely lost control of the House and gained a seat in the Senate.

These are the things historians will evaluate when rating Biden as a president and after 2 years the country and economy is doing nothing but getting better. He was recently rated in the top 20 and has nowhere to go but up.

After two years, inflation is going down, unemployment is under 4%. Jobs have been created every quarter of his first 2 years and all the right can complain about is the economy (that’s doing nothing but getting better) or the border where the current birth rate in this country should actually dictate that we encourage a few million to immigrate here. We have them at our doorstep if there was a way to cure the right wing of their bigotry and allow them. Regardless of ridiculous claims from the right, the facts speak for themselves.

I couldn't agree more someone as stupid as Brandon can do a hell of a lot of damage. That should never be underestimated

Biden? That wouldn't anger me at all; I want to see those ppl we're paying to be in DC doing the work of the people, instead of all the stupid senseless bickering and finger-pointing and pouting and middle-school drama. This is exactly what I was hoping for when I voted for him. He's had a long-standing reputation as someone who is good at building bridges and finding points of agreement with the other side.

    Well said, very well said.

What a shame that the Reichwingers prefer to wallow in the fear and hate that is spewed by their choice of media, rather than looking clearly at reality. Yes, inflation is still high -- but it is gradually returning to baseline as supply and demand even out.

Rightwing media personalities have trained MAGA rubes like dogs to giggle everytime some dotard makes a joke about Biden's supposedly senility.

Meanwhile Biden passed the most extensive domestic legislative agenda in 50 years, and he had the most successful midterm election of an incumbent in 20 years.

So Sun Tzu taught us to encourage opponents to indulge in misinformation and bad Intel.

I agree with Sun Tzu about this situation. They paint Biden out to be a drooling fool who cannot wipe his mouth...

All he does is goes out and gives a comprehendible speech, and everyone is impressed.
