2. He will have to create a new app store and that will take time, especially getting the companies that create apps to join.

Google controls Google Play and decides what apps can be on it. If Google removes an app such as Twitter from Google Play then Samsung and every other Android phone can't download it without jailbreaking Android on the phone and bypassing the security that prevents unsafe apps from being installed.

Musk could sell phones with Android that have Twitter already installed but that raises some real security issues. It would mean Twitter would be writing the code for any Android updates so that the phone doesn't disable Twitter when it gets security updates. It would leave Musk's phones open to being hacked every time a new security issue is found. They would be the least safe phones to own in the world since they would rely on Musk to keep Android on the phone updated instead of relying on Google. When a security issue is found, Google would spend 24 hours writing a patch to fix it. Once the patch was sent out, Musk's engineers would have to take that patch and test it to make sure it doesn't harm their phones. Musk and Twitter don't have the resources of Google. It would probably take at least a week if not a month for them to push out the security update. No sane person would use one of his phones.

But yeah like you said, what the fuck? Of course everyone knows phones from different companies use Android. Google owns Android. Therefore Musk needs to use a different OS if he wants his phone to be able to download Twitter app.
