Handguns have been used in about 75 percent of mass shootings since 1982, research by Statista shows.

The type of gun used in most US homicides is not an AR-15
Handguns are used in nearly two-thirds of the nation’s gun murders.

Doesn't change one iota what I stated earlier. If the laws on the books go unenforced and don't work primarily because they are being ignored or selectively enforced, putting more laws on the books won't solve a thing.

Appeal to emotion. We shouldn't be making law based on feelings.
    1) Your information regarding assault rifles (AR-15 style weapons) used in mass shootings is 6 years old. A lot has happened since then. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...ow/7814081001/

    2) I never doubted that handguns are used far more for homicides and mass shootings (involving more than 2 people), but that in no means diminishes the impact of public mass shootings that use assault rifles and the increase in their usage. See the link in #1.

    3) THINK genius. If you already have laws on the books that you swear would greatly relieve the problem if properly enforced ... and these laws differ in scope and effectiveness in each state .... then unless you mandate a federal law/initiative to enforce said laws nationally, we wind up with the SOS. Capice'?

    4) Thanks for proving my point....you're full of it because like the gun lobby flunkies in Congress you don't give a damn so long as it's not you or someone you care about getting snuffed by a gun that was previously banned. Also, YOU FEEL THREATENED OR IN DANGER of getting robbed or killed because you can't access to any type of gun you want. NOT THAT THERE ARE A PLETHORA OF GUNS YOU CAN HAVE THAT (as gunners have stated over the years) are just as comparatively effective as those on the 1994 AWB list)...it's just an EMOTION you display of that of a petulant child who can't have their way (I want it because I want it, not that I need it).

    Carry on.
