You think the US military will travel around the world and force random people to work in warehouses? Really?
Amazon may have a problem in some foreign countries, but they have too much warehouse capacity in the USA. Going out on strike makes it easier to just let workers go. In fact, even when they are growing, they let most of their warehouse workers go every year. It is an insane system, but works for them. They hire a bunch of workers in October and November, then let them go over the year, hiring a few more before Prime Day, but reducing staff during the less busy times automatically.

The fact that Amazon workers are forming a union should tell you something. They can't survive in a gig economy. More layoffs are coming so young folk will be forced to join the military to stay afloat. This was all planned out 20 years ago. Empire's goal is to pillage the earth.
Amazon warehouse workers are not technically part of the gig economy, but they do not have consistent jobs, so I get your point.
I know a thing or two about Amazon's strategy for getting rid of warehouse workers after Peak Season. It is not in any way related to the high tech layoffs that is about to happen at Amazon. Amazon is very good at getting rid of warehouse workers who cannot keep up, which if the younger workers work hard is not them. The workers that get laid off are not the workers the army would want.
