According to Ukraine's armed forces, Russia's military is circulating a document called "Conclusions of the war with NATO in Ukraine," which declares that 5 million Russian troops must be deployed in order for Russia to win, Ukrayinska Pravda reports.

During a briefing, deputy head of the Main Operative Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksii Hromov, said that the document says the main problems of the Russian occupying forces are "the commanders’ inability to command troops, low level of discipline and military training, obsolescence of armament and military equipment, commanders’ inability to make decisions without obligatorily coordinating them with higher command etc."

"Meanwhile it is stated in every document that the Defence Forces of Ukraine have a quite high level of equipment, and commanders on all levels can make decisions in combat conditions themselves," Hromov said. "It is also stated in the document that there has not been such a war in the previous 80 years, and Russia needs its army to consist of nearly 5 million troops in order to win."

So Putin was lying his ass off about the 'special operation' being a humanitarian mission to liberate Ukranians from the clutches of fascism.

There is no reason for Zalensky to negotiate in good faith with a man you claim is a notorious liar.

That was propaganda for the Russian People, but on the whole Putin has been very honest about the needs of Russia and the consequences of the West continuing to drive for war over the last decade. Putin gave very many warning statements over many years. The West has been far less honorable and honest.

People are people. Russians are smart like any other nation's people. We are not fighting in Ukraine. You do know that don't you? We are helping them with weapons. Russia is having a bad time of it. The "smart" Russians predicted a 3-day war and victory. Tough? They are just people and the people in Ukraine are protecting their homeland and families. Russian soldiers do not even know what they are fighting for.

Russia has 6 million troops.

If you add all their active, reserves, and paramilitary troops, they can get to 3.5 million. That would leave them defenseless on all other possible fronts, and many of those reserves and paramilitary troops are not fit for combat. Many of the active troops are not in parts of the military that can be used in Ukraine.

To get to 6 million, they would need to draft every male between the ages of 18 to 28, which they could not do. They would be lucky to get half the males, so would have to draft half the males between 18 and 38.

It is illegal to even say that Russia is at war. You cannot draft a huge chunk of your population for a "not war". Putin would collapse if he tried to get 6 million troops out of Russia.

Maybe there is another option that we are not seeing, but Putin is. Having said that, it does not currently look good for Putin.

Take a deep breath Hawkeye. Russia is not able to take over Ukraine, but so far Russia has not lost the war. Right now it looks more like a stalemate, or possibly a slow advance of the Ukrainians.

There is a chance that the Russian troops will collapse: break and run, but right now that does not look likely.

This is easy, even for you. Russia attacked Ukraine. They invaded a sovereign country. That is what they do. The US is an expansionist country. But that has nothing to do with this. It is Russia who showed what a threat they are. The Red nature is why NATO was started. The rest of the world knew what Russia is like and what they would do.
