The rest of your diatribe requires translation. It sounds like you were against the Iraq War?

they are actually 1.7 - 3.5 times as high.

The french do not give as many deductions for children apparently. How libertarian of them.

Where those numbers are coming from, I don't know but I have my suspicions.
Germany paid my daughter-in-law to stay home after my grandchildren were born. My memory tells me it was 12,000 Marks for one year. They care about kids AFTER they're born. I don't know if France does the same thing.

    I'm saying two things
they aren't anywhere near us economically
and yes they have tons more benefits but they get taxed to hell to get them.

Stop the wars and use that money.

    Wrong.

I'm sure they make their billionaires pay more for the privilege of living in a stable, capitialist country that protects their wealth and enables them to stay rich.

How long do you think Paris Hilton or Warren Buffet would last if we dropped them off in the Congo? My guess is that they would last 24 hours max. The only reason they're rich, is the privilege they have of living in a society the respects and protects their wealth, and has a system to keep it that way.

BUT, the average person in France, or in Europe more broadly, isn't getting taxed any more significantly than the average american.

The only thing that freaking matters at the end of the day is how much discretionary income you have at the end of the day. Topper, you're going to have to pay out of pocket for a lot of shit that europeans pay for through taxes. They get subsized day care, health care, and god knows what else.

After you pay your taxes, you're still having to pay for a lot of shit out of pocket that reduces your discretionary income. The only difference is that you prefer to give your non-discretinary income to high priced day care, and private insurance company CEOs.

The french perfer to pay for that same shit through taxes.

What are you saying, that A/C IS a necessity but Health care is not? People die in this country too of heat related injuries in their non air conditioned homes.

between my wife and I we have 5 children and I think it is ludicrous that we give people tax breaks for having children. What we need is a flat tax.

Cypress they average Joe pays 19% in sales tax in France on top of the so called 15% burden you list, maybe that's why they can't afford Ac.
Soc, France's summer a couple years ago dwarfs anything here and they are multiple times smaller than we are.

Statistics lie. The only true measure is the amount that the government spends / population. Any other measure can be screwed with by employer taxes, VAT, or hundreds of other insidious taxes and fees. *shrug*

    LMAO!

Classic! cons complain about european taxes, and then when shown that france's tax burden on the average citizen isn't significantly more than on average americans, the statistics are "lying"

Here's a tip: rush limbaugh and glenn beck have been lying to you for years. and you bought it hook line and sinker. Just because you've been trained like dogs to repeat the mantra of european socialism and european taxes doesn't make it true or accurate.

i'm no expert on taxes, but i do know the rightwing routinely lies. The average french person doesn't have a significantly higher tax burden than the average american, according to the non-partisan OECD. I assume they tax rich people more, and have other revenue enhancements that put the burden on wealth. Not on the janitor dude.

I think where you cons went off track, where you were lied to, is that boss limbaugh is probably talking about our federal tax burden compared to europe. boss limbaugh is probably misleading you and not including the state, local, and property tax burden on americans.

the point is, that the only thing that matters is the discretionary income that's left in your pocket after you paid taxes, and after you paid for the neccessities of life.

the french choose to pay for some of their life neccessities through public tax dollars. You and topspin choose to pay for 600 dollar a week private day care out of your own pocket, and you choose to pay a thousand dollars a month out of your own pocket to pad the salary of a billionaire insurance company CEO.

the french choose not to do it your way. they choose to pay for those services through public finances.

I didn't respond because this is just vauge, unsubstantiated, meaningless nonsense from the rightwing.

I understand you have been trained like a monkey to believe that "government spending" is proportional to "freeeeeeeeedom"(!!!).

What a load of horseshit. That's a meaningless and nebulous political phase that Boss Limbaugh has trained you to repeat ad naseum.
