Let me try to put this precisely. I think that Trump sees no clear distinction between truth and falsehood. To him it’s a matter of convenience, or even a spur of the moment thing.

You might say that most politicians stretch the truth, and that’s largely correct. But they don’t lie all the time for no reason. Does it reflect well on the country to give a person like that the power of POTUS? Is it even safe?

I would say the same if Trump called himself a liberal. What does that have to do with the difference between true and false?
