Default The real reason why Britain left the EU

The EU is not woke! We English speakers should cancel French, German etc. as long as they insist on having only two or three grammatical genders. How would you feel if you were forced to choose between le, la or der, die, das?

As usual, English is ahead of them all. Like German it had three genders in Anglo-Saxon times. Now it has just one for everything, which is really progressive.

P.S. Somebody is going to tell me that Hungarian and Finnish have no grammatical gender. Well, they can leave the EU too!

There are a lot of reich wingnuts who say, "there are only two genders, that is a scientific fact." Well then, which gender is a chair, or a table? The number of genders is a linguistic/cultural question. Some cultures have two, three, or even more. The most popular number is three: male, female, and neutral... But there can be ones for females under the age of reproduction, males animals who have been gelded, etc.
Daniel Patrick Moynihan said it best, "You are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts."
Paul Begala, "Politics is show business for ugly people."
Stephen Colbert, "Reality has a well known liberal bias."

There are only two human genders.

    Neutral isn't a gender.

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated khanges are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

German might have been a better choice. Everything is pronounced exactly as written, with no ambiguities (none of that wrought a tough bough nonsense).
Otoh, German has about a dozen different words for 'the' - some of which happen to coincide, so it isn't as bad as it might have been.

But then you have to deal with those insane German complex words...

    Donaudampfschiffahrtsgesellschaftskapitän
    Betäubungsmittelverschreibungsverordnung
    Bezirksschornsteinfegermeister
    Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswe rkbauunterbeamten
    Rechtsschutzversicherungsgesellschaften
    Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübert ragungsgesetz
    siebentausendzweihundertvierundfünfzig

Then toss in gender (OMG! Politically incorrect!) and all those tenses
