Jordan Peterson is a political extremist, or was. Severe depression reportedly forced him from the scene some time ago, to the regret of such estimable publications as...The Daily Wire. Colleges and universities are not all the same, believe it or not. Many still are receiving more qualified enrollment applications than they can admit. Many are producing quality graduates. Cost is the biggest problem at universities. A more general problem is the dumbing down of popular culture in the age of social media, and it hasn't helped having a colossal ignoramus named Trump at its top the last six years.

The people who complain the most about university education and liberal arts degrees tend to be people who never graduated college.

Degrees acquired by people in my immediate family include art history, English, music, sociology, graphic design, Slavic studies. Exactly zero of them had careers at Starbucks or Taco Bell.

right, LOL. I'm also told by certain people here that one can't have a successful and lucrative career without going to college, or at least obtaining 'official' education in the field.......i'm guessing that is supposed to mean attending 'official' classes and graduating or something..........

we all know that's a fucking lie
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

You can search until the cows come home and you won't find any posts from me saying electricians, welders, and small business entrepreneurs can't have a successfull and financially rewarding life.

though I replied to your post, I wasn't specifically pointing to you. for that, I apologize. there's a certain someone on this board who knows that i'm talking to them.........since they make such an issue out of higher education.

BAs have become the butt of jokes and for good reason.

Heck, I have one and its been as useless as claimed.

So yes, its easy to see that the left have an over abundance of BAs while the right has an over abundance of BSs.

Any wonder why its the left begging for student loan forgiveness ? Cant make enough money to make the payments.

And if the goal to to gain WOKE Commissar Accreditation one needs to be in a program set up just for that, in a grievance studies program. Liberal Arts has no purpose in WOKE.

Education divides everything, including connection to the labor market, marriage, connection to institutions (like organized religion), physical and mental health, and mortality. It does so for whites, Blacks and Hispanics. There has been a profound (not yet complete) convergence in life expectancy by education. There are two Americas now: one with a B.A. and one without.

A lot of this description fits the Hillbilly Elegy book/movie explanation of the Trump movement. It was written by J. D. Vance who was anti-Trump but now the Republican candidate for Senate in OH.

I have both a BA and an MS. It was the Marine Corps that molded my mind and I turned out okay.

Meth and fentanyl are terrible drugs. Notice that Trumpers only care about those drugs and not heroin, ecstasy or other drugs.

Soooo....your failure to launch is your degree? I have a BA in Psychology. It's just a foot in the door. The rest was up to me.
