Default Republicans hold a near-historic lead on a key midterm indicator

I do not much believe in polls. This headline and link is from CNN though. Lets see democrats try and wish it away.

Republicans hold a near-historic lead on a key midterm indicator

(CNN)- Sometimes you see a polling result that jumps out from the page. That was the case when I saw a recently released Gallup poll on who Americans think can better handle the issue that is most important to them.

Put in a historical context, this poll potentially portends very good things for Republicans come November.

We’re all used to polls that ask voters which issue is most important to them. Gallup puts the question to Americans open-ended, meaning a respondent can say anything from the mundane (e.g. inflation) to the inane (e.g. clowns).

Gallup, unlike other pollsters, has another twist on that question. They follow it up by pressing respondents to answer which party they think can better handle the issue that they just named as the most important.

Gallup’s latest data shows that 48% of Americans believe the Republican Party is best equipped, while 37% believe it is the Democratic Party.

This 11-point Republican edge is one of the best they have ever had. Looking at 20 midterm elections since 1946 when this question was asked, only once has the Republican Party had a larger advantage on this question. That was in 1946 when Republicans had a 17 point lead on the Democrats.

The Wallet/Pocketbook is traditionally the strongest influencer of elections. It is important to women as much as it is to men as so many women manage the household budget and are all too aware of just how far or rather NOT far their dollar goes.

Yes single women will fret about abortion but this represents no change in that demographic. The shift is in older and married ones who worry about feeding their families and keeping employed.

To get the same economic pressures you have to go back and see what happened wen Carter put us into a stagflationary downturn.

The pendulum swung long and hard.

The out of control inflation, borders, and crime are all results of far left Democrat Socialist policies.

Loss of energy independence happened on Biden’s watch.

The Trump “remain in Mexico” policy was canceled by Biden on the first day of his presidency.
Now, 3 million more illegals are here than when Biden took office.

Closing pipelines and making it difficult to drill have sent gas prices through the roof.

His insane spending is driving inflation through the roof.

Biden is driving America into the ground and he is harming hard working Americans.

We lost energy independence in 2020 when demand tanked during the pandemic causing lower prices and decreased production.

    Exactly.

$5-a-gallon gasoline, inflation over 10%, food and other items becoming increasingly unaffordable, and supply chain issues and shortages are going to play far better than abortion and Jan 6.

and jobs are disappearing now too. A million point 1 fewer openings just reported, layoffs up and FAR more being projected.

people are going to be praying its no worse than 2008 but its going to be much much worse. As I've been saying all along.

the left was foolish to attempt to distract people with the Jan6 nonsense but I suppose it was the only play they had left other than starting a war with Russia.

It will likely be a depression, our economy is destroyed, and we now waste money by the trillions, and the Chinese are coming to kick our ass.

Was there any analysis of how these polls related to results in previous elections.

I was so hoping to be dead by the time the really nasty shit gets here, but this is increasingly in doubt.

America and the West are in outright collapse now.

we are looking like depression now for sure.

but it may well get much worse than that when Biden take the new world war to heart.

he just rattled Kim's chain with war games and he's launching at Japan now.wars on the Russian and far east fronts.

and its coming soon along with martial law. maybe as soon as the first Tuesday in November....

The woke know nothing of human nature, and very little about reality.

    This ends in massive pain.
