The man who shot and injured an 84-year-old woman who had stopped at his home to campaign against abortion was charged on Friday.
Richard Harvey, 74, was arraigned on charges of felonious assault, careless discharge of a weapon causing injury and reckless use of a firearm. Bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.
911 recordings obtained Friday by News 8 show it happened about 1:30 p.m. Sept. 20, which is when Harvey’s wife, Sharon Harvey, called police...
...the prosecutor said the shot hit her in the right shoulder and exited her back. She is recovering.
Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle Butler said Michigan State Police turned over their investigation Friday morning. Charges were filed and Harvey turned himself into the jail later the same day.
According to the Rittenhouse rule, if someone was standing guard in the street, as soon as Harvey shot the woman, they could have shot Harvey dead....which would probably have been a lot cheaper for Mrs. Harvey. LOL
If the woman later dies of gangrene, not unknown with .22 shootings, it's a Second Degree Murder charge.

It is sobering how vicious the rhetoric is getting. Whenever I visit museums in Europe that go over the rise of violent nationalism as in the 1930's I always find their rhetoric to be so over the top that I can't imagine anyone falling for it, let alone mobilizing to do horrible things based on it, but then I just look at what is going on in the US (and elsewhere) and it feels like the 1930's are happening all over again.
It would be nice if this didn't have to play out all the way like we did the last time 'round on the wheel.
