In other words, Aristotle felt that if you have extremes of poor and rich, you can’t talk seriously about democracy. Any true democracy has to be what we call today a welfare state—actually, an extreme form of one, far beyond anything envisioned in this century. (When I pointed this out at a press conference in Majorca, the

No one has proven trump engaged in treason let alone convicted him of it. Oh wait is this one of those leftist things where you people believe something is true because you think it's true? Yeah, just so you know, normal people don't think like that.

Isn't the point that living with democracy is a current event, and we want to keep it a current event?

I don't give a fuck about a video. If trump committed treason then try him, convict him and put him in jail or just admit you're a whiny bitch.

For the good of democracy, the wealthy class does have to yield some power to the majority.
The only democracy Aristotle and Plato knew was Athenian direct democracy, so called "pure" democracy. Their basic criticism was that it fostered anarchy. Western representative democracy was seeded in the English parliament, flowered in the American Constitution and is the only kind of national democracy in the modern world, but it did not exist in Aristotle's time.

False. It was closer to an aristocracy. That is, the aristocratic class had a democracy among themselves.

All male citizens of Athens could vote, and citizenship descended from birth.. I didn't mention Rome, however, which did have a form of representative democracy.
