Yes, seeing America. Talking with people outside the area where I live. Learning about culture in other areas of the country. Eating different food. Meeting Latina women with dark eyes and brilliant smiles, just seeing the country.

You really don't see the benefit of traveling?

Driving 8 hours a day is not what I call "seeing America". To learn about different foods and culture, you have to spend a few days in small towns. You drove from city to city and didn't even make it to Mexico. I bet you ate chain restaurant food the whole way.

I would've headed east to spend a few days seeing the Scablands. Then to Brower's Spring for another few days at the headwaters of the Missouri River. From there you'd be a hop skip and jump from Yellowstone. Imagine the pix you could post. I'd get some pix of the Crazy Horse Memorial before heading south to Texas. This could be done with a tent and Coleman stove.

There's too much to see along the US/Canadian border. How often does one get a chance to see Yellowstone?

Sounds like a great trip. You need to understand not everyone has fun the same way you do. The things I've seen on this trip, the different f1oods I've eaten, the people I've met - I promise you, I do step out of the vehicle frequently.

Right now, I'm spending a week in a TX city - I'm going to keep the city name a secret for now.

I did not drive 8 hours every day. Right now I'm in a really cute "cabana" type unit, with a full-sized fridge, microwave, stovetop.. clean as clean can be.. 300/week! In America.

Yesterday I paid 2.99 for gas.

    I love TX!

Also, the Seattle Mariners just won their first playoff game in almost 8,000 days. Today has been a good day

Before the internet, I was lost at sea. I had no idea how and when to enter a harbor. I had to wait and follow someone in. Now there are sites where experts will answer all my questions and walk me through on what to expect.

Never take a trip without talking to those who have been there many times. Not every site is as nasty as JPP.

So I've run into a bit of a problem - both my credit and debit cards have been compromised now - my bank is a local bank in WA state and can't replace them by sending them to me without a permanent address down here so.. tomorrow I guess I'll go to a sister bank they use, write a check and just travel with travelers checks... or just cash.. or

    OH

I could get one of those prepaid debit cards!.. I'll see what the cost is - if not to expensive might be the most convenient option.

Sir, I've been all over the country.. I've seen a bunch of stuff.. you can't be offended that people don't always take your advice. I'm having a great time the way I have it.. I have no regrets..

    Thank you!

Bro, not many people get to see the center of our continent, there's not that many airports. I love that part of the country. I was trying to get you to slow down and see the sites. Now I realize you need an internet connection and a bed. My bad.
