Retired Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell said the size of the call-up may sound impressive but that those being mobilised were not active, battle-hardened soldiers.

"Because of conscription you serve in the military [in Russia] for a short time," he said.

"They've actually got something like two million reservists who've served in the military in the last five years. If you extrapolate, it's something like 25 million reservists that have at some stage served in the military.

"The challenge with all these numbers is that they look very grand.

"In context, 300,000 sounds a big number but these people are not trained, they're not experienced, they're not ready, and this is an incredibly hostile environment.
Russia couldn't stop Ukraine with their best trained and best equipped volunteer army now they are going to use poorly trained draftees who are poorly equipped and Putin expects a better outcome. We will see what happens.

Maybe he won't. Maybe he will . Time will tell.
Don't go bragging 'til the dealing's done.

Occupying a strip of land along the shores of the Sea of Azov was not how Putin defined victory.

On February 24, Putin said his war objectives were to demilitarize and de-nazify Ukraine.

He has failed miserably on both counts. Ukraine is better armed than it was seven months ago, and the government in Kyiv is defiant and remains in power.

No- they're rather anxious that the Russians don't prevent them from attacking Syria. They have to have someone to attack. That's Zionist philosophy.
What an ignorant dope like you wouldn't know though is that there are more Christian Zionists than Jewish. Yet you still harp on ' da joos', you poor dumb racist prick.

Military recruitment offices in Russia are being fire bombed.

Muslim and Asian minorities in the autonomous republics of the federation are getting pissed because they are being disproportionately conscripted to be cannon fodder.

I’m enjoying watching a far right world leader (Putin) go down. It is sad he is destroying so many lives in the process.

Our stated goal in 1944 was to overthrow Hitler, demilitarize and de-nazify Germany.

If we just occupied a strip of coast in Normandy, do you think anyone would have screamed that counted as a victory?

If you occupied it permanently, yes.

How are those pro-Russian referenda doing ?

Dwight Eisenhower would have called you a fool for declaring victory in world war 2 if allied forces were stuck occupying a strip of land on the Normandy coast

You gotta admit moon that most of the Ukraine news since last February has been news you don't like.
